Leimert Park is a neighborhood located in southern Los Angeles, just West of the University of Southern California. It’s right off the 10 and 110, and just a short commute to downtown Los Angeles. Leimert Park was the first planned community in the Los Angeles area designed for walkability and easy access to public transportation. Leimert Park will soon be home to the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, a comprehensive public transportation system. Named for its founder Walter H. Leimert, the community was developed in the 1920s and was praised as a model of urban planning across the country. So beloved was the community, that in the 1930s it was an official Olympic Village.

Today Leimert Park is a diverse, multicultural neighborhood with a thriving business district, great schools, and fun nightlife. Gorgeous rows of Spanish colonial revival homes with vintage elements line the well-manicured residential streets where children still play outside. The central district, Leimert Park Plaza, is known for its landmark cascading fountain, the historic Vision Theater, and boutique retail shopping is a perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon with other community residents.
